Your USD → MXN guide
Compare the pesos, then the practicalities.
Sending dollars to Mexico is easier to assess when you separate your US payment method from the recipient’s payout method. Compare how many pesos arrive for the same total dollar spend. If the recipient needs a particular bank or collection location, use that requirement to narrow the options before judging the quote.
Check the recipient name and the specific account or collection instructions with them before confirming. A convenient quoted payout is only useful if the recipient can access it. For a deadline, review opening hours or account availability where relevant, alongside the provider’s estimated arrival window.
What affects the total cost?
The exchange rate and the transfer fee work together. For the same total USD spend, look at the final MXN receipt rather than comparing the fee alone. Check whether funding by your chosen method changes the cost, and whether any bank or recipient charge is outside the quote.
Compare quotes close together in time. If you return later, refresh the figures before acting. A promotional quote may have conditions, including eligibility or an amount limit; read those conditions before building it into your budget.
