Your GBP → INR guide
A clearer view of money sent home.
For family support from the UK to India, start with the rupee amount your recipient needs for the month. Compare the total sterling debit required to deliver that amount. If you send regularly, check the standard quote as well as any first-transfer offer, so your budget does not depend on a one-time promotion.
Ask the recipient which account or receiving method they can actually use. Follow the selected provider’s instructions for the beneficiary name, bank details and any purpose information. A remembered recipient from an earlier transfer should still be checked if their account details have changed.
What affects the total cost?
The exchange rate and the transfer fee work together. For the same total GBP spend, look at the final INR receipt rather than comparing the fee alone. Check whether funding by your chosen method changes the cost, and whether any bank or recipient charge is outside the quote.
Compare quotes close together in time. If you return later, refresh the figures before acting. A promotional quote may have conditions, including eligibility or an amount limit; read those conditions before building it into your budget.
